Challenge B – Substantive Post #2
Design Process
A design process is a step-by-step process used to plan, create, and improve a project. This process typically involves researching, brainstorming ideas, creating and testing prototypes and making revisions. When creating a design process, it is important to be flexible and open to feedback and changes.
Challenge A
My design process for Challenge A started with a very broad topic that I am interested in, psychology. Given my educational background and interests I wanted to choose something that I knew and could present the material well. I ended up choosing the psychology of sleep as this is something that everybody does and I wanted my content to be useful and relatable. Using the feedback I received when sharing my prototype, I made the necessary changes in order to improve the final version of my comic. I think an important part of my design process for Challenge A was to admit that some aspects of my prototype just weren’t working, and that it was something that could be fixed. I think making mistakes is all part of the process and learning from them is important.
Challenge B
My group and I used a similar design process when choosing a topic for Challenge B as we also chose something psychology related and something that the majority of people experience many times in their life. My group is doing a great job learning to communicate effectively and collaborate. Though it may be challenging at times with more individuals working on one project, it is very helpful to bounce ideas off of one another and brainstorm together.
